Unpopular opinion: That sudden roadwork on my route has me doubting the 'pipe burst' story.

I drive the same streets every day for deliveries, and last week they closed off a whole block for emergency repairs. The city said a water main broke, but I was there the night before and everything was fine. No wet spots, no noise, nothing. Then I saw three unmarked vans parked nearby, and workers in plain clothes, not city uniforms. When I asked a neighbor on my stop, he mumbled something about 'digging something up' and looked nervous. It just feels off, like they're hiding what really happened. Now I'm hearing whispers online about buried cables or data lines being moved. Why not just tell us if it's something else? Makes you question all the official stories we get fed.

Yeah I saw people talking about that online too, saying it's always fiber optic cables when they use plain clothes workers! Your story about the vans totally fits with what I was reading. They never want to admit it's for internet lines instead of water.

In Denver last month, a crew was doing exactly that. It was just routine cable laying for a new internet provider. Folks online blow these things way out of proportion.

It's the world's worst kept secret, honestly.
