Unpopular opinion: White vinegar beats any store bought cleaner for battery corrosion

Had a corroded battery terminal on my old sedan... was about to buy a special cleaner from the parts store. Then I saw a bottle of white vinegar in the kitchen and gave it a shot. Poured some on a rag and wiped the terminals, the corrosion fizzed right off. Rinsed with water and dried it, good as new. It's way cheaper and you probably already have it at home. Just don't let it sit on painted surfaces too long. Works on other metal parts too, like bolts and connectors.
