Why does nobody talk about the drumstick trick the butcher at Food City showed me
Last week I was digging through the markdown bin at Food City in Phoenix and grabbed a pack of chicken drumsticks for $3.80, and the butcher leaned over and told me to ask for the packs with the sell-by date that day since they get marked half off again at close. I tried it on a second trip and walked out with 4 pounds for under $6, which fed me and my roommate for three nights with rice and frozen veg. Honestly the drumsticks hold up way better than breasts in a slow cooker anyway, they don't dry out as fast. Has anyone else figured out the best time to hit the meat case at their store, or is it just luck?
