inShowerthought: my uncle's old story about the 1980 election made me rethink a lot of things
Honestly reading what sanchez.pat said, it does make sense that memories get fuzzy. My grandma swore up and down about some town election drama, but when we looked it up, it was just a tiny story about a lost ballot box that got found an hour later. The boring truth never makes for a good family story.

inSaw a guy in Kentucky use a fullered shoe on a navicular case. Everyone said it was wrong.
Sounds like a lot of fuss for a shoe, doesn't it?

inWarning: I see a lot of installers pushing for all wireless sensors, but after a retrofit job on a 1920s brick house in Springfield, hardwired contacts with a wireless takeover module were way more reliable and saved me two service trips.
Feel for you on those callbacks, that's brutal. Pushing all wireless in a place like that is just setting yourself up for pain. Makes you wonder why some installers are so stuck on one method. The hybrid way seems like the only thing that makes sense for old solid houses, doesn't it? Glad you found a fix that actually works.

inI bought a 'self-leveling' mortar mixer for a patio job and it was a total joke
That sounds like a total nightmare, man. Those cheap online tools are always a gamble. My buddy swears by the old school barrel mixers from the rental place, they just don't die.

inShoutout to the guy in Duluth who still uses a horsehair brush
Ever feel like your own tools are judging you? My cordless drill gives me this look every time the battery dies mid-project... I'd probably get along better with a horsehair brush.
