Rant: The day the taco truck ran out of tortillas at 11 AM

I went to my favorite spot, El Jefe, last Wednesday in Phoenix. They had a huge line for their new birria, but the guy at the window just shrugged and said 'Sorry, we're out of tortillas, only bowls.' The whole vibe deflated because half the line left. Has anyone else had a food truck just run out of a key item before lunch even started?

Honestly, that's brutal. I'd be so annoyed. My move now is to always check their socials before I go. A lot of the good trucks in Tucson will post if they're running low on something big. Saved me a trip last week when one said they were almost out of carne asada.

Smart move, I started doing that after I drove across town for birria and they'd just sold the last of it lol.

Checking socials is a good backup plan, but I just call them. Takes thirty seconds and you get a real answer. Social media posts can be old or wrong, and I'm not scrolling through feeds to find a taco truck. A quick call has never let me down.
