My buddy Sarah cut some dahlias last evening and left them out in a vase with just a bit of water. She read online about letting stems air out before putting them in a full bouquet. Next morning, the blooms were insane, like totally different flowers. The reds looked deeper and the pinks almost glowed. She sent me pics and I couldn't believe the change. It's like the flowers needed that time to wake up and show off.

Seriously, I always thought you had to get flowers in water fast. But seeing this makes me want to try leaving my next bunch out on the counter overnight.
