Question about getting a better deal on home inspections
I learned that scheduling inspections during the week can save you cash, but does it really make a difference in the quality?

Absolutely, weekdays are the way to go. I saved over a hundred bucks booking on a Tuesday. The inspector had more time, no rush to get to the next weekend appointment. He was thorough as hell, way more than my friend's weekend guy. Quality depends on the person, not the day.

How do you even vet someone to know they're thorough before hiring? Time pressure on weekends could make anyone rush, but a bad inspector is bad any day. What did you look for when you picked your guy?

Look for someone who does this full time, not just weekends. I mean, my guy was booked on a Saturday and still spent over three hours on site. He had a set process and followed it no matter what. I get what mason.brian is saying about weekdays, but a good pro won't cut corners just because it's busy. I asked for sample reports from past jobs to see how detailed they were. That told me way more than just picking a day of the week.
