Nah, that's a bad take. Mold is usually from bad seal or contamination, not just dirty jars. People get too quick to blame the grower for everything.

The whole "clean your jars better" thing is way too simple. Mold pops up from tiny scratches or bad sterilization even if you scrub hard. I've had jars look spotless and still get contaminated because of a tiny crack in the seal. Blaming it all on dirty jars ignores how picky mycology really gets. It's lazy advice that sounds helpful but isn't.
