My sister said something about pockets that made me stop and think
We were at a park in Denver last weekend, and she went to put her phone away. She said, 'Every time I buy a new dress, the first thing I check is if it has real pockets. If it doesn't, I feel like the designer didn't think about me at all.' It hit different because I realized it's not just a small detail, it's about function and respect. Why do we accept clothes that look good but don't work for our lives? Has anyone else started designing with this kind of everyday need in mind first?

What about learning to sew your own pockets in?

Wait, you're telling me designers are still making dresses without real pockets? That feels like a basic thing to get right.

My sister bought a $200 dress last month that had fake pocket seams stitched shut. I used to think it was just a style choice, but she showed me how it actually messes up the whole line of the fabric when you open them. Now I get that sometimes they leave them closed to keep the shape perfect for photos. It still feels like a rip-off when you want a place for your phone.
