I finally get why people love asymmetrical hems

My friend Sarah, who works at a boutique in Austin, told me she sells way more dresses with uneven hemlines because they make simple outfits feel special. She said it's about movement, not just being different. What's your favorite way to add a little unexpected detail to a design?

That's a cool point about movement, makes total sense. So does she notice if certain fabrics work better for that kind of detail than others, like a flowy silk versus a stiff cotton? I'm curious if the material choice makes or breaks the whole effect.

Yeah, and reese124 is right, the fabric choice is basically the whole game.

Honestly, doesn't the fabric change everything?
