Rant: Bought a $150 'smart' plant sensor that told me to water my cactus every day
It was one of those fancy TerraBloom sensors that connects to an app. My poor cactus turned to mush after about three weeks because the app kept saying the soil was dry. Turns out the sensor was just junk and couldn't handle the dry potting mix. Anyone else have a gadget that completely failed and cost you money?

Maybe you just didn't calibrate it right.

Maybe I didn't calibrate it right" feels like an easy out. I followed the steps exactly as they were written. Sometimes the steps themselves are just wrong, you know? It's not always user error. I've seen this happen before where the guide has a mistake in it.

Yeah, I've had that happen with manuals too.
