Hit 50 new recipes this year and it shook me
My buddy laughed when I said I'd cook 52 new things this year, but here I am at 50 and I've only burned two dinners. The biggest shock was realizing I actually like mushrooms now after hating them for 30 years. Has a random challenge of yours ever changed your taste buds or habits?

Honestly, 50 new recipes doesn't sound that deep, did your taste buds really change or was it just okay?

Wait, 50 new recipes and they weren't even all winners? That's a lot of effort to just end up with "okay" food.

Probably depends on the person but for me it was a pretty big shift. I used to only eat like 5 things and now my fridge is full of random veggies I would have laughed at last year. The whole point is you gotta actually try stuff more than once too, not just make it and decide you hate it. It's not about every recipe being a winner, it's about proving you can learn new stuff and actually surprise yourself. Getting out of that rut was way more valuable than just having a stack of good recipes.
