That $400 wireless inspection camera I bought on a whim saved my butt when a call came in about a stuck door at a high rise downtown.
The rope was wrapped around the governor and I couldn't see squat without it, took me 15 minutes instead of a whole tear-down - has anyone else found a good use for those little endoscopes on the job?

Good for you, those little cameras are real lifesavers sometimes.

Really though, you said they're "real lifesavers" - what's the closest call you've had where a camera actually saved the day? I'm curious if it was something dramatic or just a regular thing that could've gone bad. I've got one mounted over my front door after someone tried to jimmy the lock at 3am (couldn't get a clear view of their face from the peephole, you know). Did yours catch someone sketchy or was it more about proving what happened after the fact?

yeah @wendy391 gets it, cameras just give you that peace of mind you didnt know you needed until something goes sideways. closest call for me was catching a guy trying my car door handles at 2am, the footage was just clear enough to get his face and the cops recognized him from a string of break-ins down the street. it's wild how much a small camera can shift things from "i guess i'll never know" to "here's exactly what happened" in a split second.
