A building inspector in Charlotte called out my hoistway door gap check
He said my visual check wasn't good enough and I needed to actually measure every one. Now I carry a feeler gauge set on every call. Anyone else get called on that before?

Yeah, Charlotte inspectors are strict about that. Got my feeler gauges right in the truck now too.

Which one's worse, city or county?

Wait, are you talking about the city inspectors or the county? Honestly the county guys are way more strict about valve lash than the city is. I had a city inspector pass me last month with .012 on the exhaust, but the county guy made me redo it right there in the lot. Tbh you gotta know which one you're dealing with.
