After seeing a stack of repairable laptops get shredded, I had to vent.

I swapped the whole motherboard for $80 on mine after a bad BIOS flash. Could be an option for you too, the_uma.

Bricked my laptop trying to fix it, lmao.

Classic move, I did the same thing trying to update the BIOS on my old one. Got too confident and cut the power at the worst possible second. That little mistake turned it into a very expensive paperweight, lol. Had to just trash the whole thing and save up for a new one. The worst feeling is knowing you killed it yourself. Solidarity, lmao.

Check if you can pull the hard drive out and connect it to another computer. That way you at least save your files before you decide on a fix. @luna_shah's motherboard swap is a good idea, but sometimes the drive is fine even if the laptop is dead. I used a cheap USB adapter to get my stuff off a bricked machine last year.
