Spent $500 on a Chamber of Commerce membership, feels like a total waste.

They promised leads and connections, but it's just a monthly lunch. I went three times and only talked to insurance agents. Anyone know a better way to meet real clients here?

Worst kind of networking" is right. I read this article about how a lot of these events are just people handing out cards while looking over your shoulder for someone better. It feels so fake and desperate, like everyone is just trying to get something. I would rather just have a real talk with a couple people than work a whole room. That pressure to be "on" the whole time is just exhausting.
