Found a working Keurig in a trash pile behind a Starbucks in Austin
I was pulling apart a pallet of cardboard behind my local Starbucks last month and spotted a Keurig Mini sticking out of a dumpster. Took it home, ran a vinegar cycle through it three times, and it works perfect. My roommate bought the exact same model new for $80 at Target. I cleaned mine with about a dollar of vinegar. The only difference is the buttons are a little sticky but a toothpick fixed that. Has anyone else scored working electronics from coffee shop dumpsters?

C'mon man, digging through trash behind a Starbucks is a bad look.

Four bags of bagels and a dozen croissants from the trash bin last week were still in their sealed plastic sleeves, @miles279. That's just one example. Places like Starbucks throw out perfectly edible food all the time because of their strict policies, not because it's bad. The real problem here is how much good food gets wasted every single day, not someone trying to save a few bucks and reduce trash. Have you ever seen how much a single store tosses out after closing?
