Vent: My coworking space turned into a nightclub over 6 months

I joined this spot in Chiang Mai back in March and it was perfect. Quiet, focused, everyone had headphones on. Now it's September and somehow it's become this loud social hub where people are literally having dance breaks in the common area at 3pm. I don't get how it changed so fast. I think the owner started letting in day pass folks who treat it like a hostel common room. Yesterday a guy was playing music on a Bluetooth speaker without headphones for 20 minutes before anyone said something. Has anyone else seen a good coworking space go downhill this quick? I'm thinking of switching to that new place on Nimmanhaemin but I'm worried it'll happen again. What's your move when a space you liked turns into chaos?

Wait, are you saying the Bluetooth speaker guy went 20 minutes before anyone called him out? That tells me the whole vibe shifted, not just a few loud people. Did the regulars all just give up or move out when the new crowd came in, or are the original people actually cool with the chaos now?

That line about "day pass folks who treat it like a hostel common room" nails it. I've noticed this pattern everywhere lately, seems like places just can't resist letting in crowds that ruin what made them good in the first place.

Feel you on that. I watched a small coffee shop near my job turn into this loud laptop hub after they started selling day passes to remote workers. Used to be quiet, you could actually have a conversation. Now it's just noise and people treating the place like their personal office. Hard to watch something good get watered down like that.
