Picked up a tip from a barista in Medellin about workspace noise
I was grabbing coffee last Tuesday at a coworking spot in Medellin and overheard a guy telling his friend he uses noise-cancelling headphones with brown noise, not white noise. He said it blocks out chatty people and street sounds better. I tried it on a Zoom call that afternoon and it actually helped me focus through construction noise outside. Has anyone else found a specific sound frequency that works for them in noisy cafes?

Oh man, that's funny you mention brown noise. I actually stumbled onto something similar last month. I was at this cramped little cafe in Portland and the AC unit was rattling like crazy so I tried listening to rain sounds on YouTube through my earbuds. Totally drowned out the dude next to me who was eating chips really loud. Have you ever tried just plain old rain recordings or do you stick with the electronic frequencies?

Oh yeah, 100%. Rain sounds are my go-to actually. Sometimes those electronic ones feel a little... sterile, you know?

Oh man, rain sounds are totally my go-to too! I have this one recording from a storm in Seattle that I saved, it even has a bit of thunder rolling in the background. Way better for focusing than the fancy frequency stuff, feels more like a real room.
