Helped a new guy replace his first injector cup in Chattanooga yesterday
He was shaking so bad I thought he'd strip the bore, but after I walked him through the puller setup step by step, he looked me dead in the eye and said 'thanks for not making me feel dumb' and that honestly stuck with me more than any tool tip I ever learned.

That line "thanks for not making me feel dumb" really got me. I'll be honest, I used to think the best mechanics were the ones who could fix stuff the fastest or had the most expensive tools. But seeing stories like this and that one about the truck not starting, it's making me rethink everything. It's the guys who take the time to teach without making you feel small, they're the ones who actually leave a mark on people. Really changes how you see the whole trade, doesn't it?

Oh man, that's exactly it. For me it was an older guy at the shop who showed me how to check spark plug gaps with a feeler gauge, he didn't get impatient when I messed up, just handed it back and said "try again.

Oh man, that hit me right in the gut. I had a similar thing happen a few years back with a guy who couldn't get his truck to start after a fuel system job. He was so frustrated he was ready to throw in the towel, but I just walked him through cleaning the grounds one at a time. When he finally heard it fire up, he just shook my hand and said nobody ever took the time to explain it like that before. It really made me realize how much a little patience can mean, more than any fancy tool you could buy.
