My dad joke game changed after a trip to the hardware store last Saturday
I was at Ace Hardware in Springfield picking up a new hose nozzle, and the old guy behind the counter hit me with a pun about a leaky faucet that had me laughing for ten minutes. Before that, my jokes were always about food or animals, but now I'm all about tools and repairs. Has anyone else found a random situation that totally shifted your pun style?

Yeah that's a good point - a hardware store is basically a goldmine for puns if you think about it. Screws, nuts, bolts, pipes, all that stuff gives you so many angles to work with. But does the guy behind the counter still remember the joke he told you, or did it just hit in the moment and fade away? I'm curious if it was a real classic or just one of those things that lands perfectly on a Saturday morning.

Yeah you're right, I used to roll my eyes at puns but this one actually got me.

Hold on, wait, you're telling me there's a guy behind the counter that actually remembers jokes he told to customers? That's wild, I figured it was just a one-off thing where the cashier was bored and threw out a good line. I usually walk into a hardware store, ask for a specific size of bolt, and the guy just stares at me like I'm speaking a different language. So the idea of someone not only telling a pun but then remembering it later is legitimately blowing my mind right now.
