Warning: My boss called my password policy "overkill" until we got hit
I used to force 20-character random passwords with special chars at my small office, but my boss said it was too annoying for clients. After a phishing attack stole 3k from our vendor account last month, he finally admitted I was right. How do you convince people to take password length seriously before something bad happens?

Did you finally get them to switch to a password manager after that?

Honestly, password managers freak me out more than reusing passwords. If one of those services gets hacked, every login you have is toast at once. At least with writing stuff down in a notebook, the only risk is someone breaking into my house, which is way less likely than a data breach. I'll take the low-tech route every time.
