Just saw a stat that 83% of breaches involve human error

I was reading the Verizon Data Breach Report yesterday and that number hit me hard. It means most security problems start with a simple mistake, not some fancy hack. What's the best way you've found to train people at your job to be more careful?

What if we made the training about real mistakes people actually make?

Yeah, but then we'd have to admit we're human.

I read a study that said people learn way better from real world examples, not made up ones. It's like what joelt70 hinted at, we need to drop the perfect act and talk about actual screw ups. That kind of honesty in training would actually stick with people.
