I just found out my most popular video got 80% of its views from one weird source

Honestly, I was looking at my analytics last week and saw this huge spike for a video I made about fixing audio sync. Tbh, I thought it was just a random hit. Ngl, I dug deeper and found out a single forum post on a small filmmaking site linked to it, and that one link drove over 4,000 views. It totally blew my mind that one person sharing it in the right place did more than all my social media posts combined. Has anyone else had a video blow up from a single link they didn't even know about?

Wow, that's actually a solid way to get eyes on your stuff. @joel_butler is right that search is the long game, but those random forum links can really kickstart a video's momentum. I've had it happen and it brought in a bunch of subs who stuck around.

That's wild, but my experience is totally different. My biggest video got a million views from search, not a single link. It was a basic tutorial on removing background noise. The algorithm just picked it up and ran for months. A single forum link is cool, but it's a flash in the pan. Real growth comes from search traffic that builds up over time. Relying on one lucky share isn't a real plan.

Yeah I read something about how search traffic is more steady but those viral links can really boost a video's early signals.
