This Tuesday at the register was the worst shift I've had in 3 years
I work at a grocery store in Austin and normally I can handle grumpy customers, but this one lady screamed at me for 10 minutes because we were out of her favorite organic almond milk (the $8 brand). She knocked over a display of canned beans and then demanded the manager give her a 50% discount on everything she bought. Has anyone else had a customer just completely lose it over something that small?

Dang, that's wild lol. Honestly though I think the almond milk thing is just the surface level and she was probably already having a terrible day and the grocery store was where she finally snapped. That doesn't make it okay at all but people who scream at cashiers for 10 minutes and knock stuff over are usually dealing with way bigger stuff in their own lives. Still, your manager should have had her banned for a bit so you didn't have to deal with that nonsense.

Wait, did she try scanning her library card first?

Gotta say this is honestly a bigger issue than just grocery store meltdowns. It feels like everyone is one small inconvenience away from losing it these days, and it keeps building until something stupid sets them off. Ngl, more people need to learn how to just walk away before they make total fools of themselves in public.
