Finally caved and bought a $45 pair of shears just for dry cutting

Been using the same $20 scissors for everything for two years and the difference in how clean my dry trims come out now honestly makes me wonder why I waited so long, anyone else have a tool they put off getting that ended up being worth every penny?

I bought a $60 chef's knife three years ago after dulling my third $15 one in a year. My wife still jokes that I treat that knife better than I treat her. It's got a little plastic guard and everything, sits in its own spot in the drawer. She's not wrong. That blade paid for itself in about two months just from not needing to replace it constantly.
