That $99 range finder from Harbor Freight saved me 45 minutes on a roof measuring job last Tuesday

I was up on a steep 12/12 pitch in Nashville trying to snap chalk lines for a ridge vent and after the third trip down the ladder I grabbed my dad's old tape measure and realized I could have just walked the ridge and shot it from the ground, so now I keep that thing in my truck for every bid.

Honestly, that's actually a good point I didn't think about. @the_wren said 45 minutes is your gut telling you to charge more, but maybe the headache is your gut telling you the client isn't worth it at all.
