Back in 2010, a client in Phoenix had me replace a motherboard on a desktop that was just caked in dust
I mean, after seeing the thermal paste had turned to dust itself, I started checking that on every single repair ticket. Anyone else have a simple check that became a standard part of your process?

Honestly, that thermal paste check seems a bit over the top for every single job. Most of the time it's fine.

Yeah, "most of the time it's fine" is exactly why I skip it sometimes too.
