Tried the 'leave 5 minutes early' hack for a month and the change is real

For years, I'd roll out of bed and aim to catch the 7:45 AM bus, which got me to work right on time if traffic was perfect. Last month, I forced myself to target the 7:40 bus instead. The difference isn't just five minutes less sleep. That earlier bus is way less packed, so I always get a seat. More importantly, I'm not a ball of stress watching the clock if my coffee takes 30 seconds too long. I used to sprint to the stop at least twice a week; now I haven't missed it once. It turns a frantic race into a calm walk, and starting the day without that panic is worth the slightly earlier alarm. Has anyone else found a tiny schedule shift that made a huge mental difference?

Remember reading about that trick years ago in a magazine at the dentist. Started putting my keys in the same bowl by the door every night, saves me a frantic search most mornings.

Got that same tip from my dad years ago, @sageadams. Now my wallet and sunglasses go in that bowl too. Turns a small habit into a real system.

Oh man, my dad drilled that into me too! He always said a place for everything keeps you from losing your mind.
