Hot take: My whole office thinks turning off the monitor is saving the planet

I mean, we have a policy to power down computers at night, but the IT guy in Chicago told me the actual servers and network gear run 24/7 and use way more. Idk, maybe it's just me but focusing on the tiny screen feels like we're missing the big, energy-guzzling picture in the basement. Has anyone else had to explain this to their workplace?
