PSA: Check the clearance aisle at Aldi for cheap meal bases

I popped into the Aldi on Elm Street last Tuesday just to grab milk, but I swung through the clearance section out of habit. There was a whole stack of those jarred curry sauces for 89 cents each, marked down from like $2.50. I grabbed three, tossed them in the freezer, and last night I made a killer chickpea and rice bowl for under $3 total with pantry staples. Has anyone else snagged good deals in the weird clearance bins at their grocery store?

Freeze those jars, they work just as good thawed out a month later.

You ever actually try that? I did with some strawberry jam last fall. Thawed it out this week and it was fine. Texture was a tiny bit different but the taste was spot on. Glass jars in the freezer make me nervous though. Had one crack on me before. Now I leave a good inch of headspace and it works out okay.
