I finally stopped at a random diner in Flagstaff and met the guy who built my truck's camper shell

Was driving through Arizona last week. Stopped for coffee at a place called The Roadrunner. Saw a truck in the lot with the same old Leer shell as mine, but in way better shape. Mentioned it to the guy at the counter. Turns out he was the original owner and did all the maintenance himself. He spent 20 minutes showing me his repair log and gave me the number for his parts guy. Totally saved me from buying a whole new unit. Anyone else have a random meeting fix a problem you didn't even know how to solve?

What are the odds, like wesley385 said?

The Roadrunner, that's the place off Milton Road. You found the actual guy who built your shell at a random diner counter. That's like finding the one mechanic who knows your classic car's whole history. He just happened to be there with his repair log. What are the odds of that, really.

Ever ask him to sign the log book? Get that date and his name on paper. Keep it with the shell's title. Proves the story and adds value if you ever sell.
