Appreciation post: I hit 1000 days on my running streak because of a guy at a bus stop
I was waiting for the bus in the rain, looking miserable, and this older guy just said, 'The hardest part is putting on the shoes.' That was 1000 days ago. I started running that night just to prove I could, and I haven't missed a day since. He probably has no idea his one comment started all this. Anyone else have a tiny moment with a stranger that stuck with you for years?

Funny how a few words can change everything.

That's an awesome story, man. Congrats on the streak. My version of that was a barista who saw me fumbling with a coffee order and said "you look like you need a win today." Been chasing that feeling ever since, mostly by overpaying for lattes.

Wait, is that really overpaying though? A good latte costs what, five bucks? That's cheaper than most therapy sessions. Sometimes a small kindness from a stranger is worth the price of admission.
