Almost skipped the bus stop chat because I was late
I chose to stop and talk to the guy fixing his bike, and that 5 minute chat turned into a job lead at his shop in Austin. Anyone else get a break from just being friendly for a second?

Wait he was fixing his bike at a bus stop and he owns a shop? That's wild. Most people with shops have a garage or something. Did he just have his whole toolkit on him? That's a crazy lucky break for you though.

Hang on, think about it from his side. He's a bike mechanic, probably deals with broken bikes all day, maybe he likes the challenge of a random roadside fix more than his shop work. Some people actually enjoy working in the field, like a mobile mechanic setup. And honestly, if he's got a shop he's probably got a whole van of tools, not just a pocket kit. He might've been out on a test ride or a part run and just saw the guy's chain snapped. It's not really a crazy lucky break if you think about it, its just a professional doing their job wherever they happen to be.
