My notary bond renewal got flagged for a technicality from 2022
I went to renew my notary bond last Friday and the county clerk said there was a discrepancy with my 2022 application where I listed the wrong commission number. It was off by one digit and nobody caught it for three years. I had to pay a $25 amendment fee and resubmit everything at the downtown LA office. Has anyone else run into weird errors like this with the Secretary of State filings?

Oh man, that is such a classic bureaucratic headache. Same thing happened to me last year when I was renewing my tax preparer bond. My license number was off by one digit on the original form and it passed through three people before the renewal got flagged. I ended up having to drive to the Sacramento office and wait two hours just to pay a $15 correction fee. It's crazy how one tiny mistake can snowball into a whole afternoon of wasted time, right?

Right? @umar59 nailed it, one digit flips the whole world upside down. It's like the universe just dares you to try and get anything done efficiently.
