Shoutout to the time I set off the fire alarm making grilled cheese
I was at my friend's apartment in Austin last weekend and tried to multitask by texting while flipping the sandwich. Burned it black in like 30 seconds and the smoke detector scared her cat so bad it knocked over a plant. Anyone else ruin something simple because you looked away for one second?

Gotta love when a simple grilled cheese turns into a full house evacuation and a cat-induced plant massacre. At least your friend's apartment smelled like a warning label for a few hours.

That warning label smell you mentioned is probably burnt butter mixed with whatever acrylic the cat knocked over. Three times I've had to explain to my landlord why my kitchen smells like a lab accident after a late-night snack attempt. Did you ever find out if that cat had a history of plant terrorism or was this a first-time offense? Because I'm convinced some cats just have a sixth sense for the most destructive possible timing.
