Question about setting up a monthly layout

I spent 3 hours trying to figure out a better way to log my habit tracker. Kept flipping between the wrong pages in my Leuchtturm1917. Ended up using a simple 2 page spread with washi tape dividers. How do you guys handle the migration between months?

ended up using a simple 2 page spread" - my guy spent 3 hours on a habit tracker. I just draw a line down the middle of a page and call it good. Is this really that deep or are we just making busywork for ourselves?

Genuinely asking, what does three hours get you that a straight line doesn't? Like, did you color code each habit with a different colored pen and add motivational stickers, or did it actually help you remember to drink water? I track my sleep in a notebook with a single checkmark for "slept" and a circle for "did not sleep." I'm starting to wonder if the people making these elaborate spreads are even looking at them after day three.

My habit tracker lasted three whole days before I used it to level a wobbly table leg.

the visual aspect is actually the point for some people though. making a spread look nice tricks your brain into wanting to use it even when you dont feel like it. its like gamifying your own life except the reward is a neat page instead of a loot box. l knew a guy who wouldnt brush his teeth unless he had a sticker chart like a kindergartner and it worked for him. so yeah maybe they are just making busywork but if busywork keeps someone hydrated or taking their meds then who cares if it looks extra.
