Spent 3 hours trying to find a cheap bus from Lisbon to Porto last night

Turns out the official site was down and I needed to check the local station's social media for a different link. What's the weirdest place you've had to look for a transport schedule?

Used to think you just go to the main website. Found a ferry timetable scribbled on a napkin in a cafe once.

Actually @sean782, that napkin might be more reliable... the main ferry site is always down for me. I had to call the terminal directly last week just to see if the 3:15 was running. Their online schedule said it was, but the boat was in for repairs.

That napkin story reminds me of a travel blog I read. The writer said the only working bus schedule for a remote Greek island was a handwritten note pinned to the door of a closed tourist office. It was updated with pencil marks when a bus was out of service.
