That fancy spice grinder I bought for $45 was a total waste
I got this idea that grinding my own spices would save me money in the long run, so I bought a fancy electric grinder from a kitchen store downtown. Spent $45 on it, plus another $20 on whole cumin and coriander seeds. The thing barely works - it leaves half the seeds whole and the motor gets hot after 10 seconds. Now I'm stuck with a bunch of seeds I can't use properly and a grinder that's going in the donation pile. I should have just stuck with the $3 pre-ground jars from the grocery store. Has anyone else fallen for one of those kitchen gadgets that just wastes your grocery budget?

I mean, is it really that serious though? You spent $65 on a grinder and some seeds and now it's gonna sit in a donation pile. So what. People act like one bad kitchen gadget is the end of the world. I've got a drawer full of junk like that, a garlic press that barely crushes anything, a spiralizer that takes up half my cabinet. It's not gonna wreck your whole grocery budget unless you let it. Just toss it and move on.

@umar59 I mean you're not wrong but my garlic press is actually haunted by the ghost of bad decisions... Pretty sure it's the same one that took $65 and a dream to buy. That spiralizer though is a beast, mine is currently holding up a wobbly shelf in my pantry because I refuse to admit defeat on it.
