The audiobook speed trick that finally fixed my club's arguments
Our group kept fighting over whether the narrator's pacing changed the meaning of key scenes in Beloved. So I tried having everyone listen at 1.25x speed for the next meeting, and it totally killed the debate in 10 minutes. Has anyone else tried adjusting playback speed just to get through a discussion without rehashing the same points for an hour?

Maybe 1.25x is just fast enough that nobody can catch the pauses that start the arguments.

Did your buddy ever try turning it up to 1.5x after a few drinks? My friend swore it fixed every argument until he missed a big plot twist and blamed the show, not his own pace.
