Dropped $80 on a "book club kit" from an online store and it was a total scam
I thought I was getting discussion guides, author info, and themed snacks for my group's monthly meet. All I got was a flimsy packet with 3 basic questions and a sticker that cost them maybe $2. Has anyone else fallen for these overpriced book club bundles?

Nah the convenience is worth something, plus supporting a small creator.

Oh man, that's rough. I spent $50 on one of those "curated book nerd" subscription boxes once and got a lousy tote bag with a typo on it and a candle that smelled like old socks. I mean, maybe it's just me but I feel like the whole "support a small creator" thing gets used as an excuse to charge an arm and a leg for basically nothing. Idk, I guess I'm the sucker for thinking I'd get anything decent. At least you got a sticker though, I got my candle that I had to throw away because it made my whole apartment smell like a gym locker.
