Book club hit 50 members and I wanted to scream
We started this club with 4 people in my living room (shoutout to Megan's terrible wine choices). Then we hit 50 members last month and suddenly everyone wants to debate whether 'The Great Gatsby' is actually about class or just a guy being dramatic. I miss when we could agree to disagree in like 10 minutes instead of needing a spreadsheet to track opinions. Has anyone else's chill book club turned into a full-on debate tournament after hitting a number like that?

Respectfully, bigger groups just mean more drama and less actual talking about books.

Nah, I gotta push back on this one. 50 people sounds like a win, not a nightmare. You built something that people actually want to be part of, that's cool. The spreadsheets and debates just mean people care enough to show up and think about the books. Gatsby is absolutely about class, but if someone wants to argue he's just dramatic, fine. Let them. That's the point of having a club. You can still agree to disagree, just takes a few more minutes now. The wine was probably terrible, but Megan got you this far, so cut her some slack.

Push back on @wadem89 too, are you saying 50 people sharing bad wine is better than 8 people having a real talk?
