TIL why my old foreman always yelled about grinding wheel guards
Was swapping out a worn wheel on a 4.5 inch grinder at a job site in Gary last Tuesday and decided to leave the guard off for a change of pace. Three cuts in, a chunk of the wheel blew apart and caught me right in the forearm. Guess that $45 ER copay taught me a lesson about listening to the old guys.

Did you catch that story on the news a few years back about the guy who lost his vision from a grinder wheel fragment? That one really stuck with me. @cameronf88 is right, things can go south fast with these tools, and that $45 copay sounds like a bargain compared to permanent damage.
