inMy old boss swore by late night TV spots. He was wrong.
Read a study a while back that said something like 70% of marketing managers still rely on gut instinct over data when they've already made a decision. It's like their brains just lock in and numbers don't matter anymore. That $500 test thing is tricky too because you're basically telling your boss their whole strategy might be wrong. Most people just don't handle that well no matter how nicely you put it.

inDrew a cat that actually looked like a cat for once
That's awesome when it finally clicks like that lol. Had the same thing happen with hands a few months back. They always looked like mutant claws but then one day I watched one video about breaking the hand down into a mitten shape and suddenly they just worked. Drew three hands in a row that actually looked like hands. It's weird how something specific can just unlock it in your brain. Sounds like that cat anatomy tutorial was the key for you. The smudge stick thing is a good call too, bet the fur texture came out nice with it. Congrats on the cat drawing man.

inThe customer who insisted I cut his hair with garden shears
Oddly enough there's a whole group of people who think their rusty junk is better than professional tools, like they're cracking some code the rest of us are too brainwashed to see. It's the same energy as the guy who insists his chain sharpening jig is superior to a proper barber's clipper blade. Makes you wonder if they just want an excuse to have a weird story to tell later.

inLast Tuesday was my worst day behind the chair in 12 years
33 no-shows in a month sounds rough, but I gotta wonder if that's more a market thing than a universal barber problem. In my experience people cancel everywhere, but if you're booking walk-ins that heavy maybe it's worth looking at how you schedule them. Take it with a grain of salt, but maybe the clippers aren't the issue it's just a rough patch that'll pass.

inI finally figured out why my broom finish was looking Off
Three weeks ago I watched a guy at the supply house soak his broom in a bucket for a full two minutes before even touching the slab, and I thought he was just wasting time. Turns out he was right, and now my broom finish looks like someone actually cared (instead of like a bad haircut from 1998). I spent 18 months blaming the mix from the plant when really I was just being impatient with a dry broom. So yeah, you're not alone in the "stupid simple fix that makes you feel like an idiot" club.
