Tried to watch that new show everyone's talking about and it was a total miss
I finally sat down last weekend to watch 'The Acolyte' after seeing it all over my feed. I was ready for a new Star Wars thing to binge, you know? I got through three whole episodes, and I just felt nothing. The story felt slow, and I couldn't connect with any of the characters. It's weird because my friend in Denver said it was the best thing since 'Andor'. I guess I learned that hype doesn't always mean it's for you, even with a brand you usually love. Has anyone else given this one a shot and felt let down? What's a better sci-fi binge right now?

Honestly felt like watching paint dry, and I know from EXPERIENCE. The plot just wandered around and the big moments felt totally flat. My feed was blowing up about it too, but hype is a liar sometimes. You gave it more time than I would have.

Yeah, that's a bummer. I mean, three episodes is a fair shot and it just didn't click. I felt the same way about the pacing, like it was building to something but never really got there for me. Maybe it's just me but I couldn't get into the characters either.

Saw a review that said the show had great parts but they never came together. The writer called it a puzzle with missing pieces, which makes total sense. All that slow build up just left me waiting for a payoff that never came. What did you think of the ending, did you even make it that far?
