The difference between my old 15-minute morning scramble and a planned 5-minute routine is night and day.
I used to just react to whatever was loudest when I got up, checking my phone and running around my apartment in Atlanta. For the last month, I've been doing a set thing: make the bed, drink a glass of water, and write three things I need to do that day on a notepad. That simple list stops my brain from spinning out before 8 AM. Has anyone else found a tiny change that cut down the morning chaos?

Honestly, it's just making a bed and drinking water. The world won't end if your brain spins a little before 8 AM. Some chaos is normal.

Reminds me of the chaos @val949 causes when he tries to help me lay tile before coffee.

Honestly, I totally get where you're coming from! For some of us, that morning spin is pure anxiety, not just normal chaos. Having a simple plan like yours acts like an anchor. It stops the flood of "what ifs" and urgent tasks before they can even start. My own tiny change was leaving my phone in another room overnight. That one thing broke the cycle of waking up to bad news or work emails. It made a huge difference in how calm I feel.
