My coworker told me my spreadsheets were ugly so I learned how to use conditional formatting in one afternoon
She showed me how to color-code overdue tasks in red and suddenly I actually look forward to opening that thing, has anyone else had a tiny change like that totally flip how they feel about a boring task?

I had a similar thing happen with my to-do list app. I set it up so tasks turn yellow when they're due in two days and red when they're overdue. It sounds stupid but now I actually check it twice a day instead of ignoring it for weeks. The color change gives me this little jolt of urgency that actually gets me moving. I even added a green color for tasks I finish early, just so I can see a bunch of green at the end of the week. It feels like a little game now instead of a chore.

Yeah okay I get it now. That actually sounds kinda satisfying.

The whole "turning it into a little game" part really clicked for me too. It's like your brain finally has a reason to care about boring stuff when there's a pretty color waiting at the end. Makes me want to try that green stripe thing for my own weekly habits.
