That free compost from the Dekalb county dump was full of weed seeds
Loaded up a truck bed of that free compost they give out at the Seminole Road landfill. Now my whole raised bed is nothing but crabgrass and pokeweed. Anyone else had bad luck with that stuff?

I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but I had totally the opposite luck with that stuff last spring. I grabbed a few loads from the same place for my tomato beds and it broke down real nice, no weeds or anything popping up for weeks. Maybe you just got a bad batch or something, but I swear by that free dirt for filling big beds cheap.

My buddy Mike did the same thing with a free load he snagged from a landscaping crew last fall. He filled like 4 raised beds with it, mixed in some compost and was stoked. About 3 weeks later his whole backyard looked like a jungle of crabgrass and some viney stuff he couldn't even name. He spent the whole weekend pulling weeds before he could plant anything. Dude was so mad he swore off free dirt forever after that.
