Just learned the Orion Nebula is 24 light years across, found that in a book at my local library.

That's way bigger than I pictured from most photos. Anyone else have a space fact that blew their mind?

Impossible to really get" is a common feeling, but it clicks for me when I break it down. Like shane_fisher37, I hear "billions of light years" and my brain just glazes over. But then I picture our own solar system. If Earth was a peppercorn, Pluto is over a mile away. That's just our tiny backyard. Suddenly, the distance to even the nearest star feels like a real, physical ache. It's not impossible, it's just a scale our daily lives never prepared us for.
