PSA: I lost $150 trying to find a quick answer on a random forum instead of just asking here
I was trying to figure out how to fix a weird glitch in my video editing software last week. I spent hours searching through old blog posts and a niche forum that looked helpful. I even paid for a 'premium guide' from some guy's website for $150. Turns out the guide was just a rehash of basic stuff I already knew. The real fix was a simple setting change, which I finally found by just posting my exact problem in a different 'ask anything' group. Has anyone else wasted cash on those sketchy 'expert' guides online?

Feel your pain, spent $80 on a "definitive" guide to fixing my washing machine. It was just a PDF of the free manual from the manufacturer's website. The real trick was just unplugging it for five minutes.

Honestly that "definitive guide" scam is everywhere now. They're just repackaging basic info you can find for free. It makes you scared to even try the simple fixes first.
